My latest Google Doc Homework

Just thought I'd share the link to my latest Google Doc homework page.

Yeah its just the simple old book review, but I m having to beg the kids to only do one at this stage. Yep that's right, not beg the kids to do their homework. Quite to the contrary, to not do anymore at the moment. No this isn't the first time it's happened to a teacher, actually it's not the first time it has happened in my room. It is however another little tick to learning technologies making something much more engaging for a student. (not to mention the audience and the immediate feedback possibilities)

Next step is the reviews being posted on our class blog so parents and a wider audience can see, read and comment on the student work.

It's a far cry from a lined book in a desk drawer!

The Place To Find Out About iPad Apps For The Classroom

There are some great apps out there.
Finding them can be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

This blog is to give us a personal learning network where we as educators can:

  • Find great new apps
  • Learn about classic apps that we just shouldn't live without
  • Give feedback on apps
  • Discus how people are using iPads and apps in the classroom.

Get involved, be a part, start to comment and lets start moving forward together.

Simply click on the menu tab above or follow this link.

Google Apps In Education

And so the journey now begins...

After a really inspirational conference in Melbourne just over a week ago I have just started my attempt to make Ardtornish PS a Google Apps School. Although in theory it all seems relatively easy, I fear the Government School problems will rise to the surface very quickly....fingers crossed I'm wrong.
Can we use our domain???
Do we own it???
Emails???
Will the login automatically link to the student Apps account???

Well with a click of the button my first real questions are off through the cyber tunnels to that Google burrow out there....rise Google moles and bring me to the future.

Back Soon

Hello & Welcome

In this blog I am hoping to bring some wonderful learning technologies, discus journeys and share experiences (hopefully more good than bad).
I am hoping to begin to network a good PLN of common interest, educationally IT savvy geekozoids and normals who just want to talk about, find out about and learn about the things that are positively changing the way we teach.
If you blame technologies for all your problems or use them as the excuse then this is probably not the blog for you.
As Ian Jukes Says:

'It’s really not about hardware at all

it’s about headware'

Please comment, talk and let me know who you are so we can all move forward together.
